live caricature videos

in this video you can hear me mindlessly gabbing and chuckling at a typical heckler/funny guy type (these are QUITE common)...I concentrate on the drawing as much as possible and my mouth just stays pleasant and humors him until hopefully he goes away

the lighting on this vid is really crappy...it was a dimly lit event

oh and for the record I had NOTHING to do with the music selection :)

On the road...
just made it back to Atlanta after 2 weeks of working on the road.....I made a loop from Atlanta to Cincinnati to St.Louis, To Centralia, Mo. to Kansas city and back to Atlanta...here are some videos and pics from my trip
the Smoky Mountains

my favorite part of driving from Atlanta to Cincy is the Smokies
Cincinnati, OH

this is Taste of Cincinnati, about 500,00 drunks descend upon downtown Cincinnati every memorial day weekend to eat food drink beers and use portajohns

(this is a picture of two-handed mikey drawing Old School Rapper Big daddy Kane, whats funny is Mr. Kane had a woman with him that said his name at the beginning and end of all of her sentences...."Big Daddy Kane, can I go get a beer , Big daddy Kane?" and so on)
St.Louis, Mo.

my buddy Logan sporting his wedding tat...he surprised his newlywed wife on their wedding day with a tattoo of a hammerhead shark eating a womans arm off......what a lucky lady
Centralia, Mo.

this is the carnival ride of the future......

these are the people of Centralia Missouri's Anchor festival.... a festival named not for boat anchors but instead named for the metal anchors that hold telephone poles in place
Kansas City, Mo.

statue of Charlie parker in the 18th and vine district

you can check out more photos from this roadtrip by going to my facebook album

POST # 200: Thanks for looking at my stupid drawings and semi-regular displays of narcissism:)
I reward you with a funny L.S.D. propaganda film from the 1970's

You never know when you might end up on the youtube
I was snooping around youtube looking for videos of an old favorite band of mine called Nashville Pussy, when lo and behold there appears a video of a show at the High-Pointe in St.Louis in 1998. I hit play and BAM there I am, 20 years old rocking out akwardly and arythmically right in front by the stage. Yep, I'm the big convulsing goon in the sideburns. It's funny...... I really have no perspective on how big and tall I really am until I see myself on video. This clip proves that my memory of these amazing shows was correct. Nashville pussy rocked balls!!! Thanks for posting this to you tube whoever you are! At 8:46 the bass player blows fire balls into the crowd.

Small Town Missouri fair
I took this video on the Sunday morning at the fair. The town square was basically turned into a church variety show, with real cheesy Jesus music and reverends talking about the churches and sin. This was a play about Jesus versus suicide. Quite frankly it scared the crap out of me.

I worked this fair with Anthony and Zach, two old friends from the first theme park I drew at Six flags St.Louis.
This year I've begun to take on the challenge of new mediums in the chair. For 10 years I've drawn live caricatures almost exclusively in graphite and airbrush, so I thought it was time to lean a more portable method, marker and color stix. It's gotten me out of my comfort zone and makes me think more about execution . I've got a long way to go before I'm happy with my abilities with this medium, but i thought I'd share a few from this particular weekend anyway. I know there's a lot of dude's out there that really know how to use this stuff, please give me some tips and comment's. These drawings both took about 10 to 15 minutes

St. Louis Larpers

My friend and I stumbled across these people by accident on a Sunday afternoon in Carondolet park.
Grown-ass men playing pretend dungeons and dragons......for real.

This is the scariest horror movie I've ever seen.
You can watch the whole thing for free on the internet,
just follow the link. It raises some frightening questions
and issues. Like anything else it does have an agenda,
that being said, the film will make you think . Even if the
arguments that are raised by this film bother you, watch
it until the end anyway, get out of your comfort zone.
