Lost Toys in Rochester, New York

*poster art by David Cowels

I'm very pleased to have been invited to take part in the group show "LOST TOYS: The Ones That Got Away" at the Mercer Gallery at Monroe Community College in Rochester New York.

Here's the write up on the facebook event page:
"LOST TOYS: The Ones That Got Away"

The Monroe Community College, Mercer Gallery, Rochester, NY

Everybody has one: The treasured toy that they wish they still had, the one that they wanted but never got or the dream toy that never actually existed. The cherished toy from one's childhood looms large in the memory, and is usually much more impressive in the mind than it probably was in real life. And it's the larger than life toy of our memory (or imagination) that we are celebrating. Just in time for the holidays! Several well respected artists will present their dream toys in a variety of styles and media. Think of the gallery for this show as M.C.C. Shwartz. So, bring your inner child, or actual child, and relive the magic.

November 22 – December 22, 2010
Opening Reception: Friday December 3, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

3rd annual Asifa-Atlanta Cartoon Art Show

Hey guys, I'm in this show for the third year now, It'll be running for the next month at Wonderroot here in Atlanta. I've got three pieces up in this one, I've posted them here on the blog before but they've never been in a gallery. I tweaked them so they're a little cleaner than before. I'll post 'em here on the blog once the show is over. The opening receptions for these things are great fun so if you are local you should go check it out. I unfortunately won't be attending due to a recent death in the family...not feeling very social at the moment. Don't let that stop you though....go have some fun and see some great ART!

SOLD!!!

I had a couple of pieces up at the HEY! CAFE in New Orleans. I am happy to report that they have found a happy home. If your ever down in New Orleans give the Hey! Cafe a visit, it's at Napoleon and Magazine next to the landmark Miss Dixies tavern.

"American Mythology, World War II"

"American Mythology: The Space Race"

this is how they looked before a happy collector snatched them off the wall

This guy wasn't the buyer, but he was caught admiring my paintings above the sweetener and stirring stick zone of the coffee shop

A big thank you to the buyer and remember folks If you want to commission a piece or buy something you see off the blog, I'm only an email away... mrjert@yahoo.com
