Money talks, Albert walks

"Do I want to be in STL forever? Of course. People from other teams want to play in STL and they are jealous that we're in STL because the fans are unbelievable. So why would you want to leave a place like STL to go somewhere else and make 3 OR 4 MORE MILLION A YEAR? IT'S NOT ABOUT MONEY. I ALREADY GOT MY MONEY. IT'S ABOUT WINNING, THAT'S IT.
- Albert Pujols Feb 15th, 2009

Cardinals offer - 10 years $220 million
Angels offer -10 years $250 million

Difference per year = 3 MILLION

Does he owe St. Louis fans anything? Maybe not.
But he's no longer the hero of good will and loyalty. He did not rise above greed and ego.
He took the money and moved to hollywood.
That's the way the world is.
Doesn't mean I have to like it.

Have fun counting your money Albert, take care of that elbow.

Great illustration Jert. Sorry about the Albert news, but it is kind of nice seeing Cards fans get angry.

I feel your pain, man. total bummer.
Hopefully the birds can go out and get some one good with all the money they now have available.
It's gotta be a TEAM effort, but lets see #12 in '12!
